This is Honda's newest addition to a quite remarkable lineup of engines producing more than 100hp/Ll. Though not as robust as the F20C from the S-2000 in terms of raw horsepower, this engine produces the same torque at lower RPM, providing a more linear power delivery. This new generation of Honda engines have a significantly better bore stroke relationship than the old B series engines. This will mean even higher performance in a fully tuned condition. This power train has a 6speed limited slip transaxle.

Installation into the Lotus Elise/Exige chassis, the K20A fits better than the original Rover engine. Because the K20A exhaust and gear change mechanism are not routed under the engine, the crankshaft centerline can be positioned significantly lower than the Rover K series, yielding a lower center of gravity.
